Biology
Blinn's Associate of Science in Biology is designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a bachelor's degree in the field of biology. Many Blinn biology students transfer to a variety of majors at Texas A&M University, including biology; biomedical science; rangeland, wildlife and fisheries management; entomology; and more. Students pursuing their Associate of Science take courses in biology, mathematics, chemistry, and physics common to most biology-related disciplines, and continue their studies in specialized areas after transferring to a university program.

The Associate of Science degree in Biology is designed and intended primarily for students planning to transfer to a four-year college or university. Within the constraints of the Core Curriculum, students take courses in biology, mathematics, chemistry, and physics common to most biology-related disciplines. Most students continue their studies in specialized areas after transferring to a university program in Biology, but the program also provides flexibility that accommodates students desiring only an associate degree or students with other interests. Program FAQ
Blinn courses are highly transferrable, and recent graduates have transferred to Texas A&M, Texas State, Sam Houston State, the University of Houston, the University of Texas at Arlington, and more.
Through the RELLIS Academic Alliance at Texas A&M-RELLIS, you can co-enroll at Blinn while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M University-Texarkana or a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from West Texas A&M University.
Through the CAPS Program, we also offer a co-enrollment partnership with the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) that allows you to earn your Bachelor of Science in Biology from UHV.
Students who complete Blinn’s Associate of Science in Biology and go on to earn an advanced degree can pursue careers in a range of fields, including biochemistry, environmental science, forensic science, microbiology, zoology, and more. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, occupations in life, physical, and social sciences earned a median salary of $72,740 in 2021.
